The Mark Z Band is steeped in the tradition of Chicago Blues with today's Blues-Rock sensibilities. The Mark Z band first played together in 1999 at a Jam Night hosted by R. P Michaels, Don Griffin and Pat Doody. When Mark Z would get up to jam with them, there was a cohesive vibe, and after months of playing together, everyone agreed to form a band, and the Mark Z band was born. This is the line-up represented on the CD.

Some of the material that the Mark Z Band draws from are; Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf. The Fabulous Thunderbrds, B.B. King, Albert King, Willie Dixon and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Some of the venues played include; Rory's in Addison, Time Out in Hanover Park, Vi's Last Call in St. Charles .
